Horse bedding/straw for sale

In some circumstances it is difficult to improve on straw as a bedding for horses.With modern combines the straw is often quite short – unlike ” olden times ” when long straw was more available. However with our contacts we can usually source stable quality straw in most sizes of bale. We even have one zoo customer that use oat straw for their gorillas.

Most people buy wheat straw for stables on the basis that horses are less likely to eat it. Obviously this depends on the horse- some will eat anything particularly if they are bored. Eating bedding can often be prevented by a light spray of disinfectant.
