Agricultural and equestrian
Our customers vary from large farming businesses and professional race yards, to private horse keepers, animal charities and small holders. We are happy to fulfil both large orders delivered on artic lorries and tractor and trailer loads, as well as small bale delivery – subject to area. Collection is also possible. You don’t have to be an existing customer or have an account, just contact our head office today and we can put you in touch with your local agent who will be able to advise accordingly on stock, prices, delivery and any specialist requirements.
European import and export and specialist products
As proud members of the British Hay and Straw Association, and with consequent links to the European Forage Association, we have good working relationships with suppliers in Europe and deal in both import and export trade. If you are looking for a specific type of product/ grass variety which is unavailable in the UK, we are able to use these contacts to import from Europe on your behalf.
Industrial supplies, events, power stations and renewables
In addition to equestrian and agricultural use, we also provide hay and straw as:
- Biomass for power stations – a developing industry and green energy alternative to burning fossil fuels. Either processed as pellets or burnt as the pure product, straw offers high density efficient combustion and contains biodegradable organic compounds which can be converted to clean energy.
- Building material, straw has great insulation properties and is still used for thatching which is experiencing a resurgence. We have even previously assisted Grand Designs Live by supplying straw for their show houses.
- Seasonal events, we are able to supply a variety of different sized bales for weddings, festivals, rural shows and many more, providing rustic and affordable seating and installation opportunities.
- The burgeoning bioplastics market, new types of biodegradable plastics are being used as a more sustainable alternative for numerous household items, with straw being a key component.
- Insulation for crop growth and bulbs, straw provides an excellent and highly effective insulating layer for winter growing crops that are frost sensitive and for the growth of bulbs, and has long been used in this way in Europe.
